Environmentalist.

From her performances on stage to her leadership off stage, Juliette Maners embodies a rare blend of artistic excellence and ecological consciousness.

Broadway Green Alliance College Green Captain Program

As soon as she discovered the organization in summer 2022, Juliette dedicated herself to developing today’s chapter of Broadway Green Alliance’s College Green Captain Program at Rider University. The Broadway Green Alliance is “a pioneering coalition of theater professionals and patrons who are committed to implementing sustainable practices in the theater community.” As a president and lead green captain of the (now thriving) Rider Chapter, Juliette is in her third year of spearheading initiatives to minimize waste, promote energy efficiency, grow involvement, and raise awareness about eco-friendly practices among students and faculty alike.

Stars in the House for Climate Action

Juliette’s quick and successful development of the Rider Broadway Green Alliance chapter caught the eyes of Molly Braverman, Director of Broadway Green Alliance NYC. Within months of developing the Rider chapter, Juliette was invited to be interviewed by Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley live from the Green Room 42 on “Stars In The House For Climate Action” in January 2023. Juliette was honored to encourage theatre students around the country to become Green Captains like her and take action alongside several of her broadway idols, such as Seth himself, Jesse Mueller, Mara Davi, and Shoshana Bean.

Climate Reality Leadership Corps

Through her connection to and previous work with the organization, Juliette was invited by the Broadway Green Alliance to attend the Climate Reality Training Program. She attended the three day event hosted by former Vice President Al Gore, where she gained a plethora of tools to excel her ecological work and became a certified member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps along BGA leaders, Molly Braverman, Austin Sora and Anika Larson.

Passion Project: Green Cabaret

Juliette’s greatest passion project, as well as achievement, of her collegiate artistic endeavors was Our New World: A Green Cabaret for a Sustainable Future. She created, Produced, Cast, Directed, Stage Managed, and performed in this project with the goal of accelerating student involvement in Rider Broadway Green Alliance, getting students registered as College Green Captains through BGA NYC, and funding a budget to help her organization to afford sustainable swaps to implement in Rider’s Department of Performing Arts. It was a success in all three areas, and is the ultimate representation of all of Juliette’s skills and passions being executed in harmony to propel positive change.

Eco-Representative:

Juliette is a proud Ecology Representative, or “Eco-Rep,” a paid employee of Rider University’s Office of Sustainability. There, she educates her peers and other community members about environmental issues and encourages them to live in an eco-friendlier way while also understanding their role as a global citizen and their impact on the environment. She also routinely completes tasks to advance the university’s sustainable practices!
